The Lion Salt Works is the last open pan salt works in Cheshire, England. It evaporated natural brine to make white crystal salt. The works is a Scheduled Monument set in a Conservation Area and was bought by Vale Royal Borough Council in 1986 to prevent its demolition. A charitable Trust was established in 1993. The site is now owned and managed by Cheshire West and Chester Council. Restoration works started on 27 July 2009 with an Enabling Works programme funded by the HLF and CW&CC.
